Have an event or birthday party coming up?

Hi my name is Nicholas de Graaf and I would love to host a skateboarding event for your friends or family. I’m fully insured with a working with children check, police clearance, senior first aid and mental health first aid.

The skateboarding event will go for 1.5 hours and is suited for all levels. I can provide a few skateboards but it will be great if kids can provide their own. Kids must bring a helmet, knee pads and wrist pads as the first thing I teach is the correct way to fall at the start of the lesson to prevent injury.

MAWS stands for mental awareness with sports. Fear and anxiety are often felt when having to learn something new (particulary a new sport) so the kids will get a basic introduction about what these feelings mean and learn coping strategies to overcome mental challenges. They can not only apply these to the skateboarding lesson but to every day life as well.

I have been trained in mental health first aid and have lived experience with mental health. I am flexible with skateparks I can teach at but I find Clarkson skate park a great start to learn how to skateboard. At this stage I’m only available Saturdays.

Regards,

Nick
